一、考試性質、 目的與要求

《翻譯碩士英語》是翻譯碩士專業學位(MTI)研究生入學考試的專業基礎課 考試科目，其目的是考查學生是否具備進行MTI 學習所要求的單項或綜合英語語 言水平。

《翻譯碩士英語》要求考生具備扎實的英語語言基本功，能夠認知 15,000 個 以上的英文詞匯，掌握 8,000 個以上的基本詞匯及其常用搭配;能夠熟練掌握基 本英語語法、語言結構以及文體修辭等語言知識;具備較為嫻熟的英語交際能力，

具有較強的英漢互譯能力和英語閱讀理解能力，以及較為得體的文體寫作能力等。

二、考試范圍與內容概要

(一)詞匯語法

要求考生能夠認知 15,000 個以上的英文詞匯，掌握 8,000 個以上的積極詞匯， 正確熟練運用基本詞匯及其常用搭配?？忌軌蚓哂性鷮嵉挠⒄Z語法、語言結構 以及文體修辭等語言知識，具備嫻熟規范地運用英語進行交際的能力。

(二)英漢互譯

要求考生具有良好的外語基本功，掌握相當的詞匯量，具備較好的英漢雙語 表達和轉換能力，具備一定的中外文化以及政治、經濟、法律、科技等方面的背 景知識，能夠運用翻譯理論和技巧，將不同文體風格的原文語言譯成目的語言， 譯文要求忠實原意，語言流暢，表達適切。

(三)閱讀理解

要求考生能夠讀懂一般英美報刊雜志上的新聞報道、科普文獻、歷史傳記、 文學作品等各類文體的文章。能夠理解其主旨與大意，分析事實與細節;能夠理 解其字面意義與隱含意義，作出判斷與推理;能夠分析其思想觀點、語篇結構、 語言特點與修辭手法。能夠根據閱讀內容自覺調整閱讀速度與閱讀技巧。

(四)英文寫作

要求考生根據所給題目及要求撰寫一篇不少于 400 詞的英文作文。體裁為記 敘文、說明文或議論文。要求語言通順，用詞精當，結構合理，邏輯嚴謹，文體 得體。

三、考試形式與試卷結構

(一)試卷滿分值及考試時間

本試卷滿分為 100 分，考試時間為 180 分鐘。

(二)答題方式

答題方式為閉卷、筆試。試卷由試題和答題紙組成;答案必須寫在答題紙相 應的位置上。

(三)試卷內容結構

本考試包括四個部分：詞匯語法(10 分)、英漢互譯(20 分)、閱讀理解(40 分)、英文寫作(30 分)。

The destruction of our natural resources and contamination of our food supply continue to occur, largely because of the extreme difficulty in affixing legal responsibility on those who continue to treat our environment with reckless abandon. Attempts to prevent pollution by legislation, economic incentives and friendly persuasion have been met by lawsuits, personal and industrial denial and long delays—not only in accepting responsibility, but more importantly, in doing something about it.

It seems that only when government decides it can afford tax incentives or production sacrifices is there any initiative for change. Where is industry's and our

Questions 1 to 5 are based on the following passage:

Sustainable development is applied to just about everything from energy to clean water and economic growth and as a result it has become difficult to question either the basic assumptions behind it or the way the concept is put to use. This is especially true in agriculture where sustainable development is often taken as the sole measure of progress without a proper appreciation of historical and cultural perspectives.

To start with it is important to remember that the nature of agriculture has changed markedly throughout history and will continue to do so. Medieval agriculture in northern Europe fed clothed and sheltered a predominantly rural society with a much lower population density than it is today. It had minimal effect on biodiversity and any pollution it brought about was typically localized. In terms of energy use and the nutrients captured in the product it was relatively inefficient.
